This review is right on. A couple of things: In The Life Aquatic, we are witnessing an actor's escalating dramatic poise (I just love to see actors mature and make great role choices), and we are enjoying the product of an amazingly daring director who feels absolute comfort with talking about the human condition in some very surreal and obtuse ? situations. Watching this film, no EXPERIENCING this film was like walking through an abstract painting. You never knew where you were going to go, but it was so cool looking at the purty colors!

And Willem Dafoe? How brilliant was THAT casting? Is he the new Steve Buscemi? ;)
